Definitions

  • “We” / “our” / “us” – The London Window Cleaning Company.
  • “You” / “your” / “client” – The person or business receiving services.

Quotations

  • All estimates are subject to a site survey and confirmation via written quotation.
  • Quotations are valid for 28 days.
  • Verbal or written acceptance of a quotation confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Cleaning Services

  • **General Requirements**
  • All windows must be fully closed prior to the scheduled clean. We cannot clean open or partially open windows.
  • You must inform us of any treated, specialist, or coated glass (e.g., privacy film, textured, Pilkington, or self-cleaning glass). We cannot be held liable for damage resulting from failure to disclose this information.
  • **Glass Condition & Liability**
  • While our equipment and purified water are safe for use on untreated glass, the high quality of cleaning may reveal pre-existing damage such as scratches or cracks. We are not liable for such historic defects.
  • In the unlikely event of accidental breakage caused by our team, we will address the issue through our insurance policy.
  • All items to be cleaned must be structurally sound. We accept no liability for damage to faulty or deteriorated surfaces.
  • **Access & Safety**
  • Full, unobstructed access must be provided on the day of the clean. We do not move personal items or obstacles.
  • Internal window cleaning requires clear access; please ensure sills and surrounding areas are cleared in advance.
  • We reserve the right to refuse cleaning of any window or area we deem unsafe or inaccessible.
  • **Cleaning Methods & Limitations**
  • First-time pure water cleans may require two to three visits for optimal results due to residues from previous methods.
  • Jet washing requires access to a functioning external water supply and a 13-amp power socket.
  • Some stains (e.g., paint, glue, cement, mastic) cannot be removed with pure water. Special removal services can be quoted separately.
  • We accept no responsibility for scratches resulting from removal of such substances, even when carried out by trained staff.
  • **Material Restrictions**
  • We do not clean sills made of brick, stone, tile, or other materials that may damage our equipment.
  • Conservatory roofs, balustrades, and panels include glass cleaning only and are quoted separately.
  • Fascia and soffit cleaning includes visible gutter faces and accessible areas behind.
  • **Jet Washing Disclaimer**
  • While jet washing removes most stains, some marks may persist. We are not liable for any dislodged or loose pointing that may result from the process.

Scheduling & Weather

  • We aim to clean on the agreed date, but may reschedule due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you promptly.
  • Clients must give at least 24 hours’ notice to postpone a scheduled service.
  • We operate in all weather except where safety or cleaning quality is compromised. In such cases, we will reschedule.
  • Services delayed by more than 8 weeks may require a re-survey and revised quotation.

Payments & Termination

  • **Payment Terms**
  • Payment is due on the day of service or within 10 days upon receipt of invoice (unless otherwise agreed).
  • We accept card payments, cash, and online payments.
  • In case of dispute, proof of cleared payment is the client’s responsibility.
  • Late payments may incur interest or recovery fees.
  • **Cancellation & Offers**
  • We may amend or withdraw offers, promotions, or referral schemes at any time without notice.
  • Clients who terminate and later reopen their account are not eligible for previous offers.
  • We reserve the right to terminate services at our discretion without prior notice.
  • **Notice Period**
  • Residential clients must give 7 days’ notice to terminate recurring services.
  • Commercial clients must give 28 days’ written notice unless bound by a fixed-term contract, in which case full contract value is payable.
  • Failure to give adequate notice will result in charges for scheduled work.

Satisfaction & Complaints

  • We offer a satisfaction guarantee: any issues must be reported within 24 hours for a free re-clean.
  • Complaints made after 24 hours will not be considered.

Legal

  • All services and disputes are governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of English courts.

Amendments

  • We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.
  • The current version is always available on request.
  • Errors and omissions excepted.
